Troubleshooting Toilet Training for Individuals with Profound Autism & Other Developmental Disabilities

This webinar will provide an overview of guidelines for training both urine and stool continence. When training doesn’t go as planned or when issues such as toilet avoidance, chronic urinary tract infections, or chronic constipation, present added challenges, troubleshooting will also be addressed. Dr. Lynn Brennan has served as a behavioral and educational consultant for children with ASD for over 25 years. She has designed and overseen intensive ABA programs for families, public and private school systems, hospitals, and early intervention programs. She was the first clinical director and a founding board member of the Nashoba Learning Group, a private, non-profit school for children with autism in Massachusetts offering individualized, behavioral education, training, and intervention services. Working in conjunction with the Autism Speaks Global Autism Public Health Initiative, she has provided training internationally to clinicians working with children with ASD. She has made numerous presentations on the treatment of children with autism to organizations including the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), the New England Center for Children, the University of Massachusetts Medical Center – Pediatric Grand Rounds, the University of Connecticut – Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology, Reykjavic University in Iceland, the Albanian Children’s Foundation in Albania, the Irish Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Research, National University of Ireland, Galway, the Southeast European Autism Network (SEAN) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and various autism conferences on the east coast.
