Profound Autism Advocacy

Now more than ever, we must be part of the conversation in Washington, D.C., and state capitols nationwide. Legislators and regulators need to understand the realities of living with the kind of autsm that requires lifetime, round-the-clock care. To address this, we are building a network of advocacy leaders from every corner of the United States. Please consider joining our efforts.

As part of our Profound Autism Advocacy Network:

  • You will build relationships with other advocates from across the country.
  • We will provide ongoing training, resources, and support.
  • You can participate virtually in most instances, which is perfect for caregivers who find it hard to get out of the house.

The Profound Autism Advocacy Network met on August 5, 2026 to go through the IACC's 2026-2028 Draft Strategic Plan together. There's real progress in this draft. There are also real gaps that need to be fixed before it's finalized.

The plan proposes $357 million in new funding. Neurodevelopmental regression got its own dedicated section and a $57 million line. Profound autism, despite being named 45 times in the plan, got zero dedicated dollars.
