Webinar
On February 24th join the Atlanta Autism Consortium for "Navigating Conflicting Information (and Misinformation) About Autism on Today’s Digital Landscape."
Social media platforms have made information about autism more accessible than ever before. While these platforms can be valuable resources for connection and support, they can also rapidly disseminate misleading or inaccurate information. Researchers and members of the autistic community have raised concerns about the unfiltered, and often conflicting, nature of much of this content. Inconsistent messages from authoritative sources can further contribute to confusion. This presentation will focus on how to critically evaluate and navigate misinformation about autism in today’s digital landscape.
The AAC will be joined by Giacomo Vivanti, PhD. Dr. Vivanti is an Associate Professor at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute at Drexel University, where he leads the Early Detection and Intervention Program.
