Research that includes our loved ones

For too long, people with profound autism have been left out of the research meant to help them. ARIA (Aligning Research to Impact Autism) is changing that, and Profound Autism Alliance is thrilled to promote these efforts. ARIA's IMPACT Network brings research sites around the world together to get new treatments ready for clinical trials and into the hands of families sooner. Our loved ones are at the center of this work.

The ARIA IMPACT-Ready Study

The ARIA IMPACT-Ready Study follows children and young adults over time to learn how profound autism develops and changes. What researchers learn will help shape future clinical trials.

  • Who can take part during this phase. The study is open to children and young adults up to age 18. ARIA's research team will confirm eligibility.
  • What to expect. Participants complete 1 to 5 clinic visits over about two years. Each site is dedicated to ensuring participants are appropriately supported at every visit.
  • Ready to be part of it? Enrollment opens in waves. Sign up on Get Involved in Research and we'll let you know when the study is recruiting in your area.

THE ARIA IMPACT-READY STUDY

Selected sites are implementing the ARIA IMPACT-Ready Study, is a 5-year, non-interventional natural history and clinical endpoint study launched by Aligning Research to Impact Autism (ARIA) through its international IMPACT Network. It gathers longitudinal data to build trial-ready infrastructure for profound autism and rare genetic neurodevelopmental conditions.
