The goal of this study is to better understand how children process sensory information as altered sensory processing, particularly in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), can often have negative impacts on downstream, higher-order processing which can include cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes. We hope that this work will inform improved treatment options for children facing sensory processing challenges.
We are seeking to enroll 3 to 4 year old children who are typically developing, have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or have sensory processing concerns (which means that they do not have ASD but that their caregivers express concerns about how they process sensory information).
